Workshops & Guest Speaking
I provide two workshops (a Self-Esteem and Relationships Workshop and a Mindfulness Workshop), as well as guest speaking services.
The therapeutic modality that I center my work on is Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). ACT is a form of psychotherapy that emphasizes acceptance to deal with negative thoughts, feelings, symptoms, or circumstances. ACT therapy encourages increased commitment to healthy, constructive activities that uphold your values. You’ll learn to stop avoiding, denying, and struggling with your inner emotions, and instead, accept that these deeper feelings are appropriate responses to certain situations that should not prevent you from moving forward in your life. With this understanding, you’ll begin to accept your hardships and commit to making necessary changes in your behavior, regardless of what is going on in your life and how you feel about it. This therapeutic modality centers mindfulness, and so you can expect to practice mindfulness based skills such as meditation exercises and breathing techniques. I also have experience using elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Emotion Focused Therapy.
I provide therapy to adults (ages 18 and up), adolescents (ages 13 to 17), and children (ages 6 to 12). Human development is a life long process, and each stage in our development presents us with universal yet unique challenges. Though the work done with each age group remains the same in essence, it is tailored to age appropriate interventions and takes into account the universal yet unique experiences of each stage of development.
I charge $150 per one hour session.
As a licensed clinical social worker, I am able to provide you with a receipt that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
